about

Based on Guthrie's "Jarama Valley," concerning a battle in the Spanish Civil War. Originally spoken from the point of view of the revolutionaries, this update is from the point of view of an Iraqi insurgent. Neither for or against the war, but an inquiry into what we might be dealing with over there.

lyrics

There's a town in our land called Fallujah
It's a place that you all know so well
It was there that we fought against the Christians
Our beautiful homeland turned to hell

From this city they say we are going
But don't hasten to bid us adieu
Even though we lost that battle at Fallujah
We'll defeat the infidels before we're through

We are the brave men of Allah's batallion
He is proud of the fight that we've made
And we know that all those that pray to our God
Will appreciate the sacrifice we've made

We will never find peace with these Christians
Our land is not one for democracy
So remember those 72 virgins
When you kill your brother for joining the police

Well this world will be like Old Fallujah
So much better than that "Land of the Free"
Cuz if those Christians want us to respect our women
Then it's an eye for an eye until no one can see

From this city they say we are going
But don't hasten to bid us adieu
If you use violence to take our Fallujah
Then we'll use violence to defend our cause too
